Safe Learner is a highly interactive e-learning resource developed in collaboration with Edexcel to fully cover the underpinning knowledge of the BTEC Level 2 Award in Safe Learning in the Workplace. It covers 24 topics of health and safety using interactive tasks, exercises and questions. Hazard spotting tasks are used to lead students through the content areas. Self assessment questions are then used to test what has been learnt.
The Safe Learning in the Workplace qualification is a two-credit, 20 guided learning hour (GLH) award from Edexcel which consists of one mandatory unit: Reducing the Risks to Health and Safety within a Work Placement Environment.
Safe Learning in the Workplace can be delivered as a stand-alone qualification or alongside a BTEC in WorkSkills. It is an ideal qualification for pre and post-16 learners preparing for work experience or employment. Find out more about the qualification on the Edexcel website.
Learners can use the Safe Learner e-learning materials to cover the theory. The subsequent assessment is straightforward, via an onscreen, multiple-choice test which takes an hour to complete and consists of 45 questions. A 70% pass mark is required to achieve the qualification.
